Allen Berg Racing Schools Announce East Coast Expansion
Former Formula 1 Driver to Offer Renowned Racing School Programs at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in 2023
Escondido, CA (December 6, 2022) – Beginning in the spring of 2023, the world-renowned programs operated by Allen Berg Racing Schools will be offered at both Virginia International Raceway (VIR) and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
The programs on offer will be the 2-day and 3-day racing schools using the school’s fleet of Tatuus open-wheel race cars. The open-wheel, open cockpit cars are carbon fibre construction, feature wings, and slicks, and use a 5-speed sequential gearbox. Onboard data and camera systems will also be available.
“We are really excited to bring our highly acclaimed programs to the east coast,” offered former Formula 1 driver and ABRS founder and CEO Allen Berg. “Our attendees will enjoy plenty of seat time and the same high level of instruction that has guided our clients through the famous Corkscrew at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the past several years.”
After operating mostly sold-out programs since relocating to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in 2016, this will be the school’s first foray east of the Mississippi.
Virginia International Raceway offers numerous configurations, and ABRS will operate on the challenging “Patriot Course”. “This configuration at VIR is perfect for learning how to quickly get up to speed with our Tatuus formula cars,” explains Berg. “With 12 turns over its 1.1 mile length, our students will focus their learnings on key vehicle dynamics.”
Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta’s full 2.54 mile, 12 turn road course awaits ABRS students in 2023. Berg explains, “Big changes in elevation, the famous “esses” and the location of the world-renowned Motul Petit Le Mans await our students at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. We are excited to bring our programs to this challenging road course.”
All 2- and 3-day programs on offer at VIR and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta are accredited by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) for novice race licensing.
